I need to have a look cos whilst I like the idea of standing there may be the odd time when I would welcome a little sit down. With a cup of tea. And maybe a biscuit.

The pitch would look amazing if we played no sport on it what so ever!
Maybe we could use it for picnics in summer?!

Wessie - If you're seriously suggesting that having 26 20-stone brick shithouses trampling up and down the KC for 80 minutes has no effect on the playing surface, then you're sadly mistaken, no matter what bullshit PR FC like to peddle. That said, it's wholly unfair to expect FC to piss off somewhere else to play friendlies, though perhaps the derby could be played at CP in future.

I don't really know why Barmby pulled out of blaming the rugby for the state of the pitch. I know he's an FC fan and wouldn't want to create ill feeling, but it's pretty obvious what the cause is.

With the current weather, of course the pitch is going to be a bit iffy, but I still think the groundsman should be knocking out a better surface than city have to play on at the moment.

Two things. I was as disappointed as anyone that Saturday's game was off. Taking my kids to see City down South is a real delight and a Tuesday night rescheduling will cause me problems, even from Buckinghamshire. On the other hand, if we had gone to FP on Saturday and played in the bitingly cold wind on a frozen pitch and sustained injuries to a thin squad wouldn't we all be moaning about the folly of it going ahead?
The idiots booing at the Donny game have presumably forgotten the recent times when following City away only guaranteed wasted cash and a miserable experience. Over 12 months without an away win. Not that long ago. I know we live in an instant society, but get real. We have the most exciting young squad, a well-respected young manager and no massive debt weighing the club down. Enjoy these times. They could be the start of a new golden age for our team.

I agree we could really do with someone who can head the ball into the back of the net. I agree we need to practice set pieces until it hurts. (I said so months ago.) I agree the pretty football on it’ own isn’t going to win the premier league. I also think the recent achievements of Hull City have been outstanding, we have the makings of a fantastic young team and we have an inexperienced but clever and passionate manager who is City through and through. I get a little disappointed by people who are all doom and gloom as soon as things go a little bit short of perfect. Have a bit more faith!

Calling off games for H&S reasons in these types of conditions is due to the amount of snow that clogs up the road and pavements rather than the so called nanny state worried about ice causing people to slip over.

The pitch had a complete overall in the summer didn't it but the grass still struggles to grow at the KC for some reason - may be we need these banks of lights that Arsenal use at the end of their games to induce the grass to grow again at this time of the yera.

I am sure the likes of John Cooper would be ableto give us a pitch fit for purpose if anyone can - he was headhunted as a top groundsman from the University in the first place and BP pitch was transformed by him to win the best playing surface one year in the 90's as I recall.

Agree that the friendly against Reervers could have been played at Craven Park.

My, what a very angry collection of thoughts - the first four appear to be the same one point.

Out of interest, was the game definitely called off due to the playing surface? It wasn't one of those general "the snows fucked everything outside the ground too" type decisions that happened last winter, was it?
