Hull City AFC reach the 2014 FA Cup Final

Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.

Hold thou thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

    And after years of singing along on TV, we’ll be able to sing it at Wembley, before a City match.

    A City match that’s a cup final.

    So, so looking forward to it. Ferry from Netherlands booked. Feeling hoarse from today’s match, UTT.

    Just fantastic. An F A Cup final for Hull City, it is just unbelievable and to do it in such a way. Lose the first half 2-1 and win the second 4-1. Just incredible! If we thought that Phil Brown was a great City manager then his status has just become as permanent as his tan. Steve Bruce will be idolised for generations to come and hopefully Curtis Davis will take over from him in about 10 years time judging by reports of his half time team talk.

    What a game…
    What a day..
    Unlike the play off finals, I didn’t burst into tears at final whistle..
    However, reading the words to “Abide with Me” brought home the enormity of the achievement.
    I’ll probably cry when it is sung at the final
    Mr S Bruce (Esq) must now be regarded as our finest manager

    The old joke was “It’s as likely as City getting to a Cup Final” How I wish all those diehard fans long-gone could know about this – my father-in-law would have been in heaven (Oh, he is!!)
