You may have seen this elsewhere, but it’s worth re-iterating – a group of enterprising young Tigers are planning a protest before tomorrow’s game with Nottingham Forest against the forthcoming plans by West Yorkshire Police to implement travel restrictions upon us for the Huddersfield match on March 30th.
The new and rather impressive banner above will be featured, with the plan being to assemble at the West Park gates (near to Parkers pub) at 2.30pm. The short walk to the ground will be done behind this banner as a way of peacefully protesting the authorities’ unjust criminalising of Hull City supporters. All are welcome.

Sorry to say this but as a Chesterfield fan I witnessed first hand what some of your so called fans are like

Totally with you guys on this one. The police are totally wrong and as far as I an concerned all Hull fans are welcome at the game. I’ve never seen anything but great atmospheres at games with you.

It’s 8 years since we played at fucking Chesterfield. Similar “intelligence” to West Yorkshire Poilce then.

WYP have driven a wedge in the relationship between football supporters and the police.
Back in the 70′s football was in bad shape and as a result throughout the 80′s and 90′s substantial work has been carried out in order for both football clubs and supporters to tidy up it their act.
As a result for the last 12 years I have been very happy to take my children to football. I travel home and away and have neither seen nor had any trouble in the last 15 years.
The recent actions of WYP are archaic and belong back in the 70′s. Hull City supporter are very angry indeed and I include myself in that group. I have supported Hull for 44 years and with the exception of being arrested once when I was 19 (one Saturday night in town drunk and arrested for my own safety). I have never had any dealings with the Police. I hold the Police throughout this land in high esteem, stalwarts of the community.
Unfortunately as a direct consequence of WYP proposed actions over the forthcoming game between Huddersfield and Hull I am now seriously questioning the integrity of the Police. Can I really trust the Police, would I be willing to assist or help the Police as I always would off in the past?
Right now I am not sure. I know some people might think it’s only a football match but it also about human rights and freedom of movement. I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, my vice is watching football live, why do WYP seem to think this is a crime.
I hope and pray my current contempt for the Police fades and I return to respecting them but as I feel right now that will take some timeā¦. Come on WYP wake up, a few senior officers are going to make the job of the Police Officers that walk the streets very difficult if you insist on alienating the public.

What John said.
What WYP are doing here will be remembered for a very long time, and the damage it’s doing is far greater than they appear to realise. We are now, in their view, the enemy. Little wonder people are coming to view them in the same way.

I see everyone is forgetting the Birmingham Away this season. Seats ripped up & broken by Hull fans, two fans ejected for drunken behaviour, possibly arrested. Also Sheffield Wednesdy where idiots were setting off smoke flares. this also haapened at Crystal Palace and at Peterborough.
I do not know why these get past the stewards but Hull fans have a duty to make sure there mates don’t ruin the game experience, & if they know there mates have these on them they should stop them bringing them in as we have all seen what happens at matches in Europe. Matches just turn into bloody riots, with these being lobbed around, innocent fans get injured or worst kids. All it takes is for one of these to go off @ Huddesfield, and the WYP would likely go potty at our fans, then it will be curtain for CTY!

Simo – as a Hull City fan I also recall what some of your clubs transfer dealings are like. Does this mean all of Chesterfields transfer deals are corrupt over ten years on? Get a grip for heavens sake and look at the bigger picture. WYP are treating football fans with contempt (not just Hull City), which is a dangerous precedent given what happened just a few miles up the road from you in April 1989.

John, if you’d have attention to what was being said in the media you would know that at the point WYP placed the travel restrictions on us we had only had one arrest relating to drunken disorderly all season. Thus it is not proportionate for them to impose the restrictions they have, citing alcohol consumption as one of the main reasons.
