RESULT: City 1 Leyton Orient 1

An injury time header from Nick Proschwitz saved City from the annual ignominy of exiting the FA Cup at the hands of lower-ranked opposition and forced a replay at Brisbane Road.

The German centre forward nodded in Tom Cairney’s cross in the third minute of added time to level the scores after David Mooney had deservedly headed the League One side ahead from close range on 78 minutes.

The tie will now be replayed in ten days or so, an unnecessary addition to the fixture schedule but perhaps given the wholesale changes made by Steve Bruce, as well as City’s habit of being garbage in the cups against teams from lower divisions, a tricky second game in east London is as much as they deserve. “Cameron Stewart is not in the condition to be a football player” Steve Bruce 5/1/13
    That’s a bloody understatement!
He was dreadful as was Rosenior, McKenna, Proschwitz etc. etc. etc. etc…

Noticed both Bruce and Agnew totally ignored Stewart as he came off the pitch to be subbed.

“It needs to be stated that Cameron Stewart looked like ‘little boy lost’ and all you can think of now is; locking him in a room for 24 hours watching Ahmed Elmohamady videos on loop with someone screaming ‘for crying out loud, just do that!’ at him. What the hell of Burnley done to Stewart? He looks shot. And perhaps more bizarrely, fat? ” City Independent (sorry to quote the opposition)

    Absolutely bloody right.
He looked as is he had a proper sulk on from the off. His bottom lip was stuck out so far if it had rained he would have drowned.

But lets take the positives the regulars played well.
Did what they do. Bruce Macca Cairney Jackopovic. All were solid.

    Prossy and Simpson no supply

The rest. Non existent and just played themselves out of the club.

    Taxi for Mr Stewart.
