With Gulácsi injured/terminally nervy and Basso the ongoing victim of tendonitis, plus back-up keeper Mark Oxley injured, the Tigers’ goalkeeping problems have seen them turn to a familiar face this afternoon: that of Arsenal’s Vito Mannone, as confirmed on the club’s official website.
He spent a part of last season on loan at the Circle, and having once more been unable to force his way into Arsène Wenger’s squad he’s been allowed to return north to rejoin City. His time at the club last season saw him establish a reputation to fine saves and occasionally erratic moments, though his quick-thinking was memorably instrumental in setting up the last-minute winner at Bramall Lane last season. We could have done a lot worse.

Happy with this, and as you say, could do a lot worse. He’s got a point to prove I suppose and will obviously settle right in. Right, a good forward and a Centre Half next please.

At least we can find out if he’s injury prone….but not yet I hope!! Generally agree with the above comment….the return of Turner would be nice!! What’s happened to Cullen & Devitt? Injured? Hope we go for a Cup win & not let Ipswich have an easy ride! JB…Diplomatic Flu??
