NEWS: City draw Ipswich in FA Cup

City have been drawn at home against Ipswich in the Third Round of the FA Cup. It’s the customary unexciting Cup draw for the Tigers – though there’s some added interest in that perma-crocked cockney wastrel Jimmy Bullard may be forced to face the Circle two months earlier than expected. And at least it’s not sodding Wigan again.

City haven’t won an FA Cup game since beating Sheff Utd 2-1 at the Circle nearly three years ago as part of a Cup run that took us to the Sixth Round for the first time since 1970/71, losing to Wigan last season and the season before. The Tigers have already beaten Ipswich this season, and as uninspiring as the draw as, it represents a reasonable chance of making progress.

It seems inconceivable that the game will attract the interest of ITV or ESPN, meaning the fixture will be played on Saturday 7th January.

It would seem the return of NP gave a bit of inspiration yesterday…so maybe the return of JB will also serve to get us to the 4thRound for a change. Hope the ground’s fuller than in recent Cup times. UTT!

You all seem to have forgotten that it will be City Reserves v Ipswich Reserves, therefore Bullard won’t be playing.

A lot of Ipswich fans have been complaining that his legs have “gone”. In other news Mafeking has been relieved, Les likes Adidas stuff and amberbadger is an inane twatstick.
