NEWS: City sign Sneekes

City have added to their squad a touch of quality by signing Richard Sneekes. The 33 year old midfielder has signed on a contract lasting until the end of the season, having been released from Stockport on a free transfer by their new manager Carlton Palmer. The Dutchman has played under Little before, at West Brom, and should add experience (and no little skill) to City’s midfield. He entered English football in 1994, leaving Fortuna Sittard for Bolton. He played 69 times for them, before West Brom paid £400,000 in March 1996 for his services. He played over 250 games for the Baggies, scoring a 34 times. Speaking to the official website, Brian Little said “it’s tremendous for us that we’ve been able to attract a player of his quality.” His signing comes out of the blue, but is a very welcome addition.
